We have developed the Closed Pocket hip protector to cater to people with dementia. The foam shields are sewn into the pockets and cannot be removed from the underwear. The underwear is made from 93% combed cotton and 7% elastane and feature seams that are flat instead of the more common ridge type overlocked seam. The flatlock seam and will not create pressure sores on sensitive skin as there are no ridges. The shields are made from a soft memory foam which allow them to be worn in bed.

The foam shields have been tested to the only Standard available and are shown to absorb high levels of impact should a fall occur. It is the shields that will protect the hip in a fall and you want to be sure they work well. The Closed Pocket hip protectors can be laundered with the shields in place but we recommend line drying rather than hot tumble drying.

Please click on the sizing chart for correct size. Measure around the hips and not the waist.
