About the Event
PRP continues to attract significant clinical interest, yet the published evidence can appear inconsistent.
One reason may be that PRP is often treated as a single, standardised intervention, despite considerable differences in how it is prepared and what is ultimately delivered to the patient.
Baseline platelet count, blood volume processed, platelet recovery, final injectate volume and cellular composition can all influence the final product, but these variables are not always clearly reported.
In this evidence-focused webinar, we will revisit past and current PRP research and examine why apparently similar studies may produce different clinical outcomes.
Learning Outcomes
- By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Recognise why PRP preparations used across studies may not be directly comparable
- Distinguish platelet concentration from total platelet dose
- Explain how blood volume and platelet recovery influence the final preparation
- Assess the importance of product characterisation when interpreting clinical outcomes
- Identify the key variables to consider when reviewing PRP research, protocols and preparation systems
Who This Is For?
- This session is designed for:
- Sport and Exercise Medicine Physicians
- Orthopaedic surgeons
- Musculoskeletal and interventional radiologists
- Pain medicine physicians
- GPs with an interest in sports or regenerative medicine
- Cosmetic physicians and aesthetic nurses
- Especially relevant if you:
- Use or are considering PRP in clinical practice
- Currently offer HA/joint injections and are exploring where PRP may complement your existing treatment pathways
- Assess or compare PRP preparation systems and protocols
- Manage patients with joint, tendon, musculoskeletal or sports-related conditions and aesthetic application
- Want to make more informed decisions about PRP preparation
